Just a thought.............
When I became Plant Based, I wondered why so many people (friends and family included), were so against eating this way. Even when you show them the proof that foods do heal and it could help whatever is ailing them. Then I came to the conclusion, that one of the reasons is, most do not like change. Change is hard, and naturally, we want to shy away from it. They do not want to give up eating meat. I mean, they have enjoyed it for many years and for someone to tell them that its very bad for their health, and can cause a myriad of health problems, they just cannot grasp that concept. Sometimes, sadly, it takes a health scare to wake them up, and even then, some still go back to eating the same foods that got them sick in the first place.
I have heard many excuses also, such as, "I don't like a lot of vegetables", "I will miss my hamburgers and chicken", "I will be hungry all the time", "It will be just too hard to stick to", and on and on and on. This reminds me of a quote by Benjamin Franklin who said,
"He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else." That may be harsh, but it is so true. Making excuses for anything in your life is only damaging to you. Some people will never change their eating habits, no matter how much scientific proof you show them. At least you have tried to help them. Who knows? Maybe your success will inspire them to do this :)
